A Taste of Cyprus That Feels Like Home
Where tradition meets the grill — flavours straight from the heart

Weekend Cravings? We Found the Perfect Spot for Authentic Cypriot Comfort Food!
This past weekend, we were on the hunt for something a little different. We wanted a place that served real Cypriot food, had a relaxed, welcoming vibe, and most importantly made us feel like we were eating at home.
Not just good food, but heartwarming food.
Our pick? Lysia Restaurant, located on the Larnaka–Dhekelia Road.
And honestly? It was everything we were looking for...and more!

First Impressions: Like Walking Into a Friend’s House
From the moment we stepped inside, we felt it. That warm, familiar atmosphere that only a true family-run place can offer. The space is beautifully decorated with traditional Cypriot touches that make you feel instantly connected to the island’s culture and hospitality.
The staff welcomed us like old friends. No fuss, no formality, just smiles, warmth, and genuine care. Before we even looked at the menu, we already knew we were in for a good time.
Kleftiko That Melts in Your Mouth
Let’s talk about the kleftiko. This dish alone is worth the visit. Slow-cooked in a traditional oven, the lamb was so tender it practically fell apart with a touch of the fork. Juicy, flavourful, and perfectly seasoned. It’s the kind of comfort food that reminds you of Sunday lunch at your grandma’s.
The aroma hit us before the plate even landed on the table. It’s that unmistakable scent of Cypriot tradition, and we couldn't wait to dive in. It’s served every day, so you can enjoy it whenever you crave a taste of Cyprus.

The Souvla? An Absolute Must!
Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying the souvla and it did not disappoint. Think lamb, pork, wine-marinated pork, and chicken, all slow-roasted over charcoal. Every piece was grilled to perfection, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with that smoky flavour that just screams summer in Cyprus.
And let’s not forget the sides, crispy fresh salad, golden potatoes, and a variety of traditional starters that tied the whole meal together beautifully.

More Than Just a Restaurant — It’s a Story!
The name Lysia isn’t just a name. It comes from Lysi, the occupied village where the restaurant owners' roots lie. Since 1990, this family has kept the spirit of their village alive through food. Serving traditional recipes passed down through generations, always with love, authenticity, and respect for their heritage.
You don’t just eat at Lysia, you connect with a story, a history, and a passion that’s been lovingly preserved on every plate.
Final thoughts? We’ll definitely be back and with more friends!
If you’re looking for a place that brings together authentic flavours, true hospitality, and that magical feeling of being both a guest and at home, Lysia Restaurant is a must.
