We visited an award-winning tavern in Limassol, specifically in Parekklisia, and enjoyed an exceptional meal.

Melis' Grill House - Tavern is nestled in the heart of Parekklisia village, near the Archangel Michael Church. It has always been a central part of local life, evolving into a beloved tavern and becoming a favourite destination for many. In 2019, it was honoured at the Cyprus Eating Awards as the Best Tavern on the Island.

This tavern is ideal for leisurely bites and wine with friends. At its tables, you'll enjoy uniquely crafted specialities, delightful music playing in the background, and the picturesque view of the village.

Our Impression

At Melis' Tavern, we felt like we were on the set of a Greek movie. The wall murals, raw stone interior, cobblestone paths, benches, old wooden doors, and ceiling beams are some features that gave us that authentic feeling.

It embodies the classic tavern ambience, promising delicious Cypriot cuisine. The menu features incredible meze, fantastic pork shank, delicious chops, superb souvlaki, tasty home-made sheftalies, and other equally fresh and high-quality Cypriot dishes.

The tavern's menu includes traditional recipes with a wide variety of delectable treats and dishes you won’t find in typical taverns in Cyprus.

 

We tried and recommend the authentic traditional meze. As we mentioned, we love meze, so we curated our own selection!

Amongst the different flavours we chose were Baby Taro (with special marinating and grilling), top-choice pork shank roasted for hours in the oven, beef liver with caramelised onions in balsamic, meatballs, koupepia, sheftalies, and souvlaki.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the owner, Mr. Melis, was very polite and always smiling at his customers.

"Melis' Grill House - Tavern" is the perfect spot for true food enthusiasts.

We visited, tried it, and undoubtedly recommend it!
