The Mexican Gem That Locals and Travelers in Pafos Can’t Get Enough Of

If you find yourself strolling down Coral Bay Avenue, Pegeias’ most vivid street, and catch the scent of grilled meat and smoky spices, follow it. It’ll probably lead you straight to Rio Grande Tex Mex Grill, and trust us, that’s exactly where you want to be.

From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something different. The waiter smiled and asked, “How do you like it?” Mild, Medium or Hot. A promising start.

We went all-in with one of the stars of the menu: the Kansas City Fillet Steak. Perfectly char-grilled beef tenderloin, juicy and rich, served with grilled asparagus, tomato and mushrooms. It melted in our mouths.

But then came a little food envy; the table next to us had ordered the Rio’s Tex Mex Mighty Grill, a carnivore’s dream with steak, chicken, lamb chops and ribs. We’re still thinking about it. Next time, it’s ours.

What’s a proper Tex-Mex lunch or dinner without the all-time classics? The Sizzling Fajitas arrived in a cloud of steam and spice, beef, bell peppers, onions, and all the proper sides: guacamole, salsa, sour cream, warm tortillas.

We also loved the Chicken Burrito, hearty and satisfying with rice, veggies, and melted cheese wrapped in a soft tortilla.

And of course, cocktails. Refreshing, colourful, and crafted by one of the best bartenders in town, and that’s not just local gossip. At Rio Grande, the bar isn’t just a side note; it’s a whole chapter of the experience.

Rio Grande isn’t just a meal. It’s a tasty escape. Next time you're in Pafos, skip the ordinary and head straight for the sizzle.
